Initilisation Strings
The following information shows a list of common Initilisation Strings for use with your modem. For a step by step guide, please go to our Awesome Support page and choose your operating system.
Common Initilisation Strings
x0 - Attempt dial and handshake regardless of what is on the line.
x3 - Attempt to dial without waiting for dial tone. Still only handshakes if modem carrier detected on other end.
S10=200 - Sets the carrier time out. If the modem drops carrier, the modem will attempt to regain carrier for 20 seconds. If not set, modem will hang up as soon as carrier is dropped.
s91=13 - attenuation 10 = highest 15 = lowest. Use when static on the line.
+ms=v34 - Slows modem to v34. only used for Rockwell internal chipsets or usb softmodems (conexant, HCF etc).
+ms=v90,,,,,40000 - As above but for v90 mode (40000 is the max speed, can be anything in increments of 2000).
+ms=11 - v34 for hardware modems.
+ms=12,1,40000,41333 - v90 for hardware modems, 40000 is min attempted speed, 41333 is max attempted speed, increments are 40000,41333,42667,44000 etc.
